On Sunday, Feb. 1, celebrities gathered at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California, to recognize the most celebrated musical artists of 2025 at this year’s Grammys. The Grammys are a 67-year-old tradition that honors music from various categories throughout the years.
This year’s nominations were announced on Nov. 7, 2025, via a live broadcast. Nominations are traditionally determined by Recording Academy voters, and winners are selected in a subsequent vote. The Grammys have long been debated for their legitimacy in decision-making, with calls from decorated musicians like Eminem that label the tradition’s voting as “fake.” Despite this, the television event has garnered more than 15 million viewers for each of the last few years’ ceremonies.
As with every award ceremony, there were plenty of opinions flying around leading up to the winners being announced, and plenty expressed afterwards. The most popular opinion was that Sabrina Carpenter was “snubbed,” as the rising popstar lost all six of her nominations. A similar complaint arose following last year’s Grammys, when singer Billie Eilish also lost every nomination.
Another notable happening at this year’s Grammys was the number of celebrities who made political statements surrounding the current ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and Border Patrol Operations across the United States that occur via President Donald Trump’s authority. After accepting her Grammy for Song of the Year (“WILDFLOWER”), Eilish spoke to her fellow celebrity attendees and said, “No one is illegal on stolen land…f*** ICE.” Her message received plenty of mixed reactions. Some online viewers pointed out the irony of Eilish’s speech from her home being on Native American land, while others praised her for encouraging Americans to speak up about the political state of the country.
An equally discussed element of this year’s celebration was the plethora of performers, including Best New Artist nominees KATSEYE, Addison Rae, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and Alex Warren. Each respective performer showcased a popular song from their repertoire, but Warren’s performance was interrupted by technical difficulties, sparking jokes surrounding the connection between his loss of the nomination and his backtrack’s malfunction.
Despite the eventful proceedings, winners were eventually announced. According to Grammy tradition, the 2025 winner in each category handed the 2026 winner their Grammy. Now, without further ado, here are the 2026 nominees and winners for the General Field categories (winners in bold):
