Contenders for the 2026 Grammys

What is one thing that can relax the human mind? Music. Every year, a new song or album suddenly goes viral. It could be for multiple reasons, but when it becomes popular, it has a chance at winning a Grammy Award, one of the highest awards in the music industry. Which songs and albums will receive one of the awards and which will win song or album of the year?

Daisies – Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber makes a massive comeback after several years with his new song, “Daisies.” “Daisies” was released in Aug. 2025 and reached almost four million views in two months as part of his latest album, Swag. As Bieber was a viral singer in the past, it would be likely that he would receive a Grammy for his song.

Ordinary – Alex Warren
Premiering in Feb. 2025, “Ordinary” became a viral love song very quickly. Within seven months of its release, it got over 170 million views and remains popular to this day. Warren is a new singer on the rise to fame, and winning a Grammy on his first release would change his career forever. Even if the song doesn’t win an award, it would be a great performance during the Grammys.

Golden – Huntrix via. KPop Demon Hunters
It is difficult for a movie song to win a Grammy. However, the latest popular film K-Pop Demon Hunters created a viral soundtrack for the movie. Their most viral song in that soundtrack was “Golden.” The song is sung by the main character, Rumi, who is part of Huntrix and is voiced by Arden Cho. Golden went viral before KPop Demon Hunters released on Netflix, but will it be enough for the song to win a Grammy?

Mystical Magical – Benson Boone
After “In the Stars and Beautiful Things,” Benson Boone makes another comeback with “Mystical Magical”. Unlike his older songs which are intended to be sad, his song involves excitement and celebration. His funny statement about Moonbeam Ice Cream also made it go viral, as Crumbl made a cookie from the song. “Mystical Magical” was a viral song throughout the spring of 2025, but will it have what it takes to win a Grammy Award?

Golden, Daisies, Ordinary and Mystical Magical; songs that made the viral charts in 2025. Three Green Hope chorus students chose who they think should be nominated for a Grammy. If a song wins a Grammy Award, the song and artist will live on for years and for generations to come.

Luke Nystrom is a sophomore at Green Hope High School and is in his first year writing for the GH Falcon, but he grew up in California and lived there for 14 years. He is a working magician who has been practicing for two and a half years. He loves to perform magic tricks, specifically card tricks during and outside of school. One of the key moments of his hobby is when he participated in the school talent show with his act. Some of his key traits to his personality are his kindness, his ability to make everyone laugh and smile when performing and the fact that he is hardworking, even when struggling. The key factors he sees in the people are their humor, kindness and willingness to talk and get along. He is ready to use his amiable personality to add to the GH Falcon staff this year.
