As the fall sports season concludes, Green Hope had numerous athletes from various sports recognized for their outstanding achievements. Take a look at the full list below:

Men’s Cross Country

Men’s Cross Country took home another State Championship title for Green Hope this year. Within the team’s success, seven athletes were recognized by the state or the coaches for their contributions.

NCHSAA Sportsmanship Award: Luke Young

Women’s Cross Country

Women’s Cross Country put in a lot of hard work during their season and are looking to continue improving the program. Four athletes helped lead the team and are recognized below.

Women’s Tennis

Women’s Tennis earned Green Hope another State Championship title. The team finished the season undefeated with six athletes recognized for their achievements.

Men’s Soccer

Men’s Soccer finished with a record of 19-4, making it to the third round of the State Playoffs. The team’s success helped further Green Hope’s reputation as an athletic force, but only five players were recognized for their performance.

Josh Bevan was also the SWAC Player of the Year and Region Player of the Year.

Football

Green Hope Football fought an uphill battle this season as they adjusted to a new Head Coach, but were still able to find success. Three players from the team stood out for their outstanding performances.

All Conference (Defense): Ben Lu

Women’s Volleyball

Women’s Volleyball finished second in their conference with a total record of 20-7. After making it to the Second Round of the State Playoffs, the team was knocked out. Within their success, six players were recognized for their performance.

Women’s Gymnastics

Finally, Women’s Gymnastics worked hard and finished sixth in North Carolina. They made it to States and had six athletes recognized.

All Conference: Macy Armstrong, Audrey Mentler, Teresa Qian, and Maggie Aysque
All State: Teresa Qian, Macy Armstrong, Audrey Mentler, Maggie Ayscue, Anna Costa, and Addie Hanckel
Conference Placements: Team – 5th, Macy Armstrong – 5th all around, 4th on floor, 6th on vault
State Placements: Team – 6th, Macy Armstrong – 9th all around, 7th on floor, 9th on beam, Teresa Qian – 4th on floor

With the conclusion of the fall season, it is safe to say that Green Hope has confirmed its place as a strong athletic school in SWAC and the state. Moving into winter, it will be exciting to see what other accomplishments our student-athletes reach.
