The FIFA video game downfall

Many people on Social Media talk about how the FIFA video game, now called EA Sports FC, has fallen off drastically. This doesn’t necessarily mean the game is bad, but compared to how it was back then, it’s definitely worse between the cards, the music and just the overall feeling of the game. Many consistent buyers stopped playing the game, even some who have been playing for over a decade.

YouTube Videos

A key factor in the video game’s success was the people who used to post related content, whether it’s YouTuber W2S doing a high-rated “Fut Draft”, or ChrisMD packing Team of the Year cards. These were videos that grew and entertained the entire community. Nowadays, content creation is seen as dry or just doesn’t “hit the same” as much as the older videos. People would use the game for multiple different kinds of content as well, including real-life challenges, like shooting free kicks to see what card they’d use in the game.

Music

The music in FIFA plays a bigger part in it than others may think. The GH Falcon asked a couple of people who have been playing the video game for years, and they all gave a similar response when talking about the game. “It had better music,” they said, and emphasized how it made the game feel better. As of recently, many people have said online that the new music isn’t as good as before. Many iconic songs were produced in the older games. These include “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” from FIFA 22, “Love Me Again” from FIFA 15, “Heat Waves” from FIFA 21 and much more.

Inside the Game

One person who was interviewed said that the game itself used to be better. “The old FIFA had better mechanics and was better to play”. Currently, a number of people complain online about how the current game has a lot of issues, some even say it’s unplayable, whether it’s from the server issues and lag, or the constant bugs and game mechanics. These negatives put others at a disadvantage or negatively impact people inside the game itself. Some struggle to progress in specific game modes due to the fact that they keep getting kicked out and experiencing game freezes.

Designs

Many people on social media frequently talk about how the old designs for the game were very unique. The newer designs, including the card promos, menu, training/free play section, game covers etc. aren’t necessarily terrible, but they aren’t great. Some people discuss how some of the designs are bland or robotic, unlike before, more people said the old designs were very colorful and cool. Overall, others say that the designs became worse, and the older ones were much better.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the FIFA video game, now known as EA FC, has become worse in numerous kinds of ways. Like the content creation online falling off, or the feeling of the game, this game used to be much better than it is now. Although the game fell off in numerous ways, it’s still played by millions of people and many still enjoy it.

Zaid is a freshman at Green Hope, and it is his first year writing for the GH Falcon. Zaid was born in Qatar, and lived there until he was eight years old. He loved moving to the United States, even though there was a lot of adapting to do. Zaid’s mother and brother have had a huge impact on his life. Zaid has a huge passion for soccer, and he plays soccer at least three times a week and watches it everyday. In the future, Zaid wants to play D1 soccer or become a business owner. Even though Zaid doesn’t have any prior experience with journalism, he is willing to learn, and excited to write multiple articles. He also believes that writing helps know what goes on nationally.
