On Sep. 8 2025, workers at an impound lot in Hollywood reported to police a foul odor coming from one of their newer car additions. When police arrived on scene, they determined that the oder was coming from a tesla that belonged to David Anthony Burke, better known as popular singer D4vd. Upon further investigation, they discovered a dead decomposing body of a seemingly young girl in the trunk of the car that had been left in the summer heat.
While at the time of discovery, the body was left unknown due to the state of the weeks old decomposition, along with the alleged reports of partial dismemberment, the body would soon be identified as missing 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
At the time of the case spreading to the public, the police did not yet release an official suspect, but the public went digging into the singer D4vd, the man who owned the car. When investigating the case, the public found evidence of an allegedly more personal relationship between the 15 year-old-girl and the 20-year-old singer.
With the exploration by media users into this more alleged personal relationship, many photos, discord messages and personal accounts have resurfaced, but have not been officially proven, creating many odd occurrences pointing to David, such as the admins in his own server posting a server announcement allegedly stating that they didn’t know how old Celeste was and how they do not support David’s actions. This, along with the videos of Celeste backstage at his concerts and in his streams, make David look worse in some media user’s point of views.
However, in the point of view of those who support David, the Celeste mentioned in all of these messages and videos could very well be David’s friend, 23-year-old Celeste Herrera, who looks a lot like the missing girl.
While a lot of the alleged photos and videos came to the surface all the way back in September, more updates have occurred. In the present day, no one has been named a suspect yet, but a trial has started up to try and determine what may have happened. In the course of the trial, they called upon David’s best friend, Neo Langston, to put on the stand as a witness. However, due to him failing to appear in court, he was arrested on Jan. 22 at his mother’s house. While he was released from custody just two days later with a bond of $60,0000, he still stood before a grand jury in the regards of the 15-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The grand jury is currently hearing all of the evidence in the case, and may potentially choose to make the decision to put David Burke on trial. While the police claim they have an idea of who committed the murder, they have not announced who they have suspected, although their actions suggest that they have been looking into David Burke.
The police have been looking into the timeline of when David was home as opposed to when he was in Santa Barbara, as well as how long Celeste Rivas Hernandez was deceased for. The police have also searched through the house that David was staying in, searching for any sort of evidence on what may have happened.
During this time of the investigation on what happened to Celeste Hernandez, David Burke and his social media team have been mostly silent on social media. However, this silence may be due to how the public has been connecting his gory music videos to the actions that led to Celeste’s death. Or, the silence has been due to how much the police have been looking into the people and environments close to David.
While there are some improvements in the Celeste Rivas Hernandez case, there have been no official suspects for the police. However, despite the lack of a suspect, the police are rapidly gaining evidence and potential witnesses to hold those guilty accountable. While the updates are slow, they are just steps closer to gaining justice for the 15-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
