Trips in the Triangle: Cherry blossoms

As the winter fades away and spring comes, the weather becomes warmer and the trees grow vibrant.

Cherry blossoms– delicate, pink and beautiful– are a staple to spring. As the weather warms and the days grow longer, cherry blossoms bloom, adorning trees with their soft, pink petals. Throughout the Triangle, there are a variety of parks and gardens that offer perfect settings to enjoy the warm spring weather and cherry blossoms alongside friends and family, and the GH Falcon has curated a list for you to visit!

Village District

Located in downtown Raleigh near NC State University, the village district boasts cherry blossoms that line its streets. Along with these trees, the village district also holds a variety of unique stores and restaurants that you can explore, discovering unique treasures and indulging in culinary delights!

Pullen Park

Also near downtown Raleigh, Pullen Park offers a variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy! In Pullen Park, there are beautiful gardens filled with cherry blossoms and other botanicals, perfect for a sunny afternoon stroll. Along with enjoying the sight of flowers, Pullen Park also offers carousels, pedal boats and train rides for you and your family to enjoy!

Duke Gardens

Situated at Duke University in Durham, Duke Gardens spans 55 acres of lush greenery and beautiful landscaping. In the springtime, cherry blossoms border the alleyways, creating a beautiful, picturesque scene. Visitors can immerse themselves in the serene atmosphere, enjoying strolls amidst lush greenery, tranquil ponds, and vibrant floral displays, or also partake in educational programs and events offered throughout the year

Greenways

Throughout the Triangle, the greenway system offers wonderful trails for you and your family to walk! Among these trails, cherry blossom trees speckle the atmosphere, creating an alluring landscape. White Oak Greenway and Green Hope School Greenway are just a few of the greenways where you can find cherry blossoms.

As warmer weather and leafy, vibrant colors spread across the Triangle, cherry blossoms bloom as a hallmark of the season.  From the streets of downtown Raleigh’s village district to the landscapes of Duke Gardens and the trails of the greenway system, there are countless opportunities to experience the charm of these delicate blooms. Whether you’re seeking a walk along nature, a family outing or simply a breath of fresh air, the cherry blossoms of the Triangle offer a serene scape for all to enjoy!
