Rising to fame at fourteen years old, Taylor Swift achieved her first major hit with Tim McGraw on the Top 40 charts. Swift then released numerous albums that won awards including twelve Grammy Awards, Artist of the Year awards, the MTV Video Music award, and many more. Every one of her albums has had songs on the billboards, with her newer albums growing her career further. Selling over 13 million of these albums, Taylor Swift’s dominance in the music industry and widespread popularity has led to her major tours.

The most recent and still ongoing tour, the Eras tour, has gotten Taylor Swift to all-time high of success, consistently extending her tour dates and now having 151 shows in five continents. At the height of the tour, the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” movie was released on Oct. 13 in theaters across the US and in over 100 countries around the world. People enjoyed an immersive experience, where many sang and danced to her concert. With the popularity of the movie and merchandise, theaters collected over $200 million dollars.

Swift’s Eras Tour was the jump from the millions to the billion. According to The Washington Post, not only has Swift earned the title of being a billionaire, but it has jolted the economy with money trickling down, bringing a growth in US wealth.

The tour has been sold out in all different parts of the world, with stadiums holding an average of around 72,000 people per show according to Statista. Fans are anticipating for more tour dates to be released as Taylor Swift is still performing next year.

Overall, $55 million extra dollars went to workers of the tour, people spent $1,279 dollars on average towards the concert, in four months $3 million dollars were spent on bracelets for the concert on Etsy, $1,611 dollars is the average resale ticket price, and there were additional costs on large amounts of money going towards flights, hotels and the stadiums.

Taylor Swift recently released “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” the updated album being a hit with her fans. Swift advocates for artist rights, since hers was taken away, which led to these new albums to be re-released. Swift’s audience are now playing the “Taylor’s Version” albums repeatedly to help her take back ownership of her songs. The albums “Fearless” and “Red” were re-released in 2021 and the “1989” album recently came out late October of this year.

With Taylor Swift’s connection to her fans through her songs and top-rated concerts, many look forward to upcoming production from her. The Eras Tour is currently generating billions of dollars, contributing to her wealth and Swift is now one of the top artists in the world.
