It’s common at the end of the year to create New Year’s resolutions, but how common is it to maintain these resolutions? After setting realistic goals for yourself, it can still be overwhelming to meet them. The GH Falcon has compiled some activities that may be useful to you in achieving your desired goals!
Vision Boards
Vision boards are a visual representation of an individual’s goals or dreams for the future consisting of images and words of affirmation to motivate and push themselves towards their goals. For many, the images on these boards could be of places they would like to visit, specific clothing styles they’d like to have or foods they’d like to try. Some make their vision boards out of printed photos or scrapbook items, such as newspapers or magazines and place those pieces onto a foam board. Others prefer to make their vision boards digitally through Canva, Udreamr, Pinterest and other resources.
Custom Bingo Cards
For many, the hardest part about maintaining New Year’s resolutions is the motivation that comes with starting and maintaining their goals. Making custom bingo cards is a fun craft that people can create based on their resolutions. These cards are simple, cute and can be made custom on digital programs like Canva or can be drawn out and decorated on paper. By using this method, many individuals are able to treat achieving their goals like a game. This method is less pressuring than others; the goal of the game is to simply to win Bingo. Gamifying your goals can help them seem more realistic, attainable and more motivating as a whole.
100 Day Projects
Pursuing long term goals can be a challenging task. For those with busy lives, it is difficult to find time to sit down for hours on end to work towards a singular goal or project. That is why many influencers participate in 100 day challenges, focused on one of their goals at a time. For each day, for 100 days or a specified duration of time, individuals dedicate at least five minutes a day towards their goals. Whether it be drawing, exercising or taking notes on a subject of interest, the total time accumulated from pursuing their goals leads them to be better at what they wanted to accomplish than they were before they started the challenge or project.
Goal-tracking Apps
Writing down your goals is one thing, but visually seeing yourself achieving those goals is another. That is why many turn to goal tracking apps to help them keep track of their progress towards their goals. Some free goal tracking apps include Clockify, Clickup, Strides, Weekdone and Notion.
