Sam Chu, Staff Writer
Sam is a junior at Green Hope and is a first year writer on the staff with a variety of interests. She’s a music fanatic, frequently volunteering to perform at senior homes and can play multiple instruments, her favorite being the piano. Additionally, she’s a leader within Green Hope as a captain on the girl’s golf team and a member of the Student Council. In her free time, she relaxes through games of Valarant and other computer games, or by tapping into her creative side, with drawing and other various forms of art. Sam loves to travel around the world, frequently visiting her mother’s origin island Taiwan, and many other places in Asia. Throughout the year, Sam works at a Boba shop owned by her aunt. In the future, she hopes to major in Psychology at Boston University, commencing her career at a corporate HR position.
Miguel Carrasco Gomez, Staff Writer
Miguel is a sophomore at Green Hope, and this is his first year on the staff. His hope for this class is to improve his writing skills and work on his transitions between paragraphs. This past summer he visited Paris and Spain with his family. Miguel represents Green Hope as a member of the cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams. In his free time, he likes to code and play video games. His favorite video game is Kerbal Space Program that he plays on PC. His long term goal is to get a degree in computer programming at an in-state university.
Valentina Garcia, Staff Writer
Valentina Garcia is a senior at Green Hope, and this is her first year on the GH Falcon staff. Her interest in writing began in elementary school and continued into high school with classes such as AP Lang and Creative Writing. These classes helped her to realize she enjoyed incorporating creativity into her writing. She is currently the president of the Skills USA club here at Green Hope. Her hobbies include film and working out at the gym. She is the youngest of three, with two older brothers. She hopes to go to Depaul University after an exciting senior year with the GH Falcon.
Itziar Carrasco Gomez, Opinion/Editorials Editor
Itziar Carrasco Gomez is a senior at Green Hope High School. She loves to spend time with family and friends. She has been a part of the Green Hope Falcon for a year now and hopes to continue pursuing journalism in the future whether a hobby or full career. In the next few years, she sees herself pursuing a degree and potentially moving to New York to be more involved in fashion. She hopes to use journalism as a way to highlight important issues and create change.
