Known for her fun costumes and dazzling stage effects, she is on tour with her newest album, “143” and celebrating her 17 year long musical career. The setlist incorporates songs from her past and songs from her most recent album. The tour also has a futuristic theme, following a half-machine, half-human Perry who travels around a tech-riddled world fighting battles against artificial intelligence (AI). During her shows, she flies using a wire and has a lightsaber battle against the machines while a voice narrates the story, fully immersing the audience in her concerts. If you’re up for an adventure, then Katy Perry is the concert for you.
Kesha
Over the years, Kesha has been known for her innovative style, breaking norms and her outspokenness on issues that she feels matter. She is on tour with her album that will release on Jul. 4 titled “.,” (pronounced “period”). After a legal battle with her former producer, Kesha describes her album as a way to heal and wants her fans to feel liberated. The songs in the album each have an upbeat, house-style bass that make listeners want to get up and dance. For a dance filled evening, come to the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek on Aug. 3 to see Kesha.
Wallows
If you want a fun night filled with rock focused music, then Wallows is your band to see at Red Hat Amphitheater on Jun. 11. Due to popular demand, the band expanded their tour dates into 2025 to celebrate their newest album “Model,” and their older music as well. The band features popular actor, Dylan Minnette, as one of their vocalists and guitarists. Minnette is most known for starring in the popular show, “13 Reasons Why” as the protagonist, Clay Jensen. The Wallows describe their style as being influenced by bands such as Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, The Smiths and The Libertines. Seeing Wallows ensures a fun night filled with alternative rock music.
Men I Trust
Known for their calming music and use of synth, Men I Trust will be coming to Charlotte on Aug. 31 at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre. If you’re up for the drive, Men I Trust will be showcasing music from their two newest albums: Equus Caballus and Equus Asinus, each album being the scientific name for a species of horse or donkey. The band felt that the songs on each album had a distinct feel, so they separated them into two albums, naming them as animals within the same genus. The albums represent a new, more melancholic shift for the band, but still maintains the jazzy feel that the band has. Men I Trust will ensure a night of relaxation and fun for anyone that goes.
