Senior star and team captain Jack D’Agostin (‘25) scored his 100th career point (goals scored plus assists) this year against Apex Friendship, playing as midfielder. Serving as a key role in Green Hope’s success this year, he scored 28 goals and assisted in 11. D’Agostin made varsity his freshman year, starting all four years and playing as a captain since his sophomore year. During his freshman year, he immediately made an impact on the team, scoring seven goals and assisting three. Playing as a captain the following year, he scored four goals and had six assists. It wasn’t until his Junior year that D’Agostin stood out from other players. Scoring 26 goals and having 27 assists during his junior year, he led the team in both goals scored and assists.
Since he was 11, D’Agostin has played club lacrosse for Club 91 Carolina, quickly falling in love with the game. After his four years at Green Hope, he is going to Hampden-Sydney to continue his lacrosse career at the college level. Hampden-Sydney plays at the division three level with a team that has performed well this year, putting up a twelve and four record. D’Agostin’s love for the game pushes him to pursue his future in lacrosse, which he spoke to saying he wants to “push myself to a new level of lacrosse, meet new people, play for a new coaching staff and all around become a better player and person.”
D’Agostin’s favorite moment of his high school career was hitting the 100 point milestone. “It was a memorable moment because I got to share it with all my friends, family, and teammates while also representing all the work I put into the sport,“ said D’Agostin.
Despite suffering a season-ending ACL tear his senior year, D’Agostin still scored the most goals he has in a single season this year. D’Agostin is a dedicated player, still showing up to every game and practice to support his team despite his injury. He has found success every year of his Green Hope career, discussing where this success came from. “I credit my success to my parents and sisters for the money, time, dedication and motivation they put in.”
D’Agostin’s drive to play lacrosse has pushed him to reach his goals and beyond, continuing to play the game he loves at the collegiate level. Pushing through many injuries and obstacles, he managed to hit his 100 point milestone. D’Agostin shared that he will continue to work towards his goals at Hampden Sydney, and will continue to show the effort that made him so successful at the high school level.
