Janiya Russell is a senior at Green Hope, writing for the GH Falcon for a second year with a passion for sharing news. She was born in Mississippi, but grew up in Jacksonville, NC until eventually moving to the Cary area. After coming to Green Hope High School, she decided to join the ACE internship for engineering, an esteemed program known for developing architecture, construction and engineering skills. During her journey with the program, she picked up an official ACE mentorship certification, furthering her academic success. Janiya has three younger siblings, an older brother and a cat named Picasso. In her own time, she plays the guitar and enjoys learning about art and history, but hopes to major in engineering after she graduates. She is eagerly looking forward to sharing stories and writing for the GH Falcon.
